I am using my Oregon 600 hiking for 2 years (foot ski), I am moderately satisfied + The GPS works well - Ergonomics is very poor, even less pleasant than the ergonomics of GPS android applications - No bluetooth communication with my android smartphone (compatible with iphone I think) hidden behind the vague promise: >>> - NI-MH batteries discharge in 24 hours (so if you forget to stop the night at the shelter, nothing the next day) - No possibility of programming a time between 2 GPS points => calculation constantly => Chow batteries - USB cable supplied Oregon and can charge batteries Garmin special, but not AA Ni-Mh, so you have to lug around: Oregon + spare batteries + charger - Occasionally => crash with lock, restart Oregon
