After reading all the reviews on this pump with sand filter and printed out the 25-page construction and Bedinungsanleitung, I was convinced not to do anything wrong with the purchase. The assembly and the connection was a breeze for me as a trained installer. However, the filter cover is absolutely not dichtzubekommen. At least 8 times I have now removed the lid, the gasket and the groove thoroughly cleaned, smoothed the plastic molding blemishes with fine sandpaper - all for naught! It trickles and drips still out under the clamping ring, which was turned down until it stops. Therefore, 3 stars for the most powerful pump but zero star for the filter. Then I tried to reduce the pump pressure on the filter as follows: At the pump output, I built a 1-inch tee a 3rd whose departure opens into 2 half inch hose valves with Gardena connector. A rooster output leads to the solar panel and the other to the pool shower. With a 1-inch ball valves I can now throttle or close the inlet to the sand filter. I can now use the pump for 3 functions and save the additional pump, which has promoted the water to the collector. Since the repeated removal of the pool tubes, the flood has annoyed me quickly, I also built in both tubes a 1-inch ball valve. On the both sides screwed 1 inch nipple, hoses fit perfectly and dense. So I can at night to close and exit the pool and does not have to be feared that the pool secretly idles by the leaking sand filter. Franz Bauer.
Addendum: I've been keeping the filter dripping though he still, in order to avoid puddles, I have the complete filter placed in a large plastic tub. The leaked water I pump back into the pool. The filter performance is impeccable, the backwash is super. Each week I rinse the filter over a fixed tube in the rain-irrigation water-ton. After that, the pool water is despite a lot of rain in shortest time again crystal clear. I can to an installed 3-way diverter valve in the suction line between the skimmer and the Pool cleaner with an extension switch.
The pump performance is so good that the many insects that were previously fished with the Nets, now rapidly disappearing in the skimmer. Franz Bauer.
