I too have the quite "cute" device now in use for a few days and want to give you a realistic assessment of the player on the way.
1 - Unpacking: The Player is not much bigger and about half as thick as a match-box, weighs 27 grams and sweet together the accessories designed to the packing as appropriate.
Included are a USB cable and the earphones similarly depicted, as well as two hand "-büchlein" in different languages. But here you have to have benevolent acknowledge
is that the German version largely error-free and meaningful way.
2. - Prepare: protective films peeled, turned on - nothing. OK, the device would be loaded first. And here arise, for something more inexperienced users, the first discrepancies.
In theory, you close the USB cable to the computer and there you go. To do this, but that even two adjacent USB ports sorry to say, quite
can supply different voltages and thus also the final charging time (in some cases substantially) may vary. I will not go into now, but the
(Quite logical) thought that USB is always true USB so unfortunately not. I also had to try several times to my PC the port with the greatest possible
To find power. If one makes the effort to come but sometimes significantly shorter charging times, as here partially shown, revealed. After this procedure was the
Battery then fully charged in less than 2 hours.
3. - Start-up: USB from, headphones pure - no, not included! So very seriously (as already often mentioned), at RRP 10, - makes the accessory only what the price will bear!
Unfortunately, here there is not the pleasant surprise that the headphones sound like a 20 or higher. But hey ... at least is spare (for the worst emergency) while :-)
Without memory card I look for the first time on display, was welcomed by PEARL and landing in the menu with 2 variables: Music & System. Since music is the "Front Page" confirm
I select the menu item and get prompt the (logical) Message: Micro SD missing - stands to reason is still not there. OK, go with the rocker switch (I explain the same also) to:
3a - Keys: Yes if you are used to today's smartphone control affects the rocker switch certainly disconcerting that lacks intuitive in the middle Confirmation button, causing the rocker himself
with thicker fingers inevitably frustration. I fortunately relatively narrow fingers, but did get accustomed quickly, the keys very "outside" to use!
The rocker switch can be no precision model and is therefore "wrong push- dangerous" ... as I said, pressing sooooo outside, then goes quite well.
4. - System: According to the "music" without an SD card not funzt (oh wonder ;-)) I click on to "system" here can burn time, contrast, memory info, firmware version and menu language, see
or even change. Which leads me to display ...
5. - Display: The display lists first everything needed to. The "illegibility" previously mentioned several times based on the (technically) quite "simple" fact
that here (unthinkable for the price), etc. just not an IPS panel is used, it is a simple, colorful, but just a little sluggish and (!) viewing angle-dependent LC display.
Does that mean that the readability is good viewing angles only in "optimal", you look more from the bottom of the display, one recognizes as good as nothing. Retinal / AMOLED Pampered eyes
throw up here just in the corner, but at "optimum" viewing angle is all very legibly. Because everything is a little jerky technology (streaming tape), but I want the Player
not read, but listen in the first place! Here I must, however, my first, really give negative criticism. If I want to change my player the contrast,
changes ... nchts! Will be a software problem, a newer firmware, the "may" resolve the issue, unfortunately I have not (yet) found.
But again, just what the price.
6 - Memory card: Due to the reviews below recessions I have tested multiple memory cards: Samsung Micro SD 512MB SanDisk M SD 4GB and 16GB SanDisk SD-HC, all have been recognized without complaint.
(Again, it is recommended to test all USB ports through!) But, as already mentioned, the larger the card, the "unbedienbarer" is the player. A nice side effect,
the player acts as a card reader :-)
7. - Software: Here I must admit, unfortunately, that you can use 32GB determined, but due to the player software makes it no later than 2GB is no longer fun to wade through all the tracks on
must! At least the lack of "Shuffle" function "Search" and / or alphabetical selection make navigating this menu really anything but user-friendly. My urgent
Recommendation is not more than 2GB, "know your songs" and "pre-sorting is your best friend" ... everything else just causes frustration. Overall, the player responds quite slowly to
Inputs, but that in this unit no 4-core processor is built should probably be clear.
8. - sound: As mentioned above you should also at this machine prefer headphones of his confidence, or personal Hörempfindens !!! I have a Philips in-ear, my in-ear headset
Tested Samsung, as well as a DJ Shell headphones from Panasonic. All three models I had I, a level more or less noise in the height range in there (from volume 20
EQ default setting). However, as a whole the music was pleasant place. The "noise" often cited gabs only when jumping to the next song, or menu operation during
Play.
8a. - Equalizer: There was (unfortunately) a unanimous overall picture, namely almost all three headphones I could turn up 31 to the maximum volume level without falling over the same dead, but almost
in all EQ was later than 20 volume level noise heard, except (!) when setting DBB (Digital bass reinforcement). This setting sounded to me as Preset
"Nature", only "noise reduction", but with no discernible bass reinforcement -.- In all three headphones I had with DBB still the best sound, but that's always more subjective.
9 - Battery: not yet tested by hand on heart, I habs ... but just at the moment, while writing, I can already hear for 2 hours and the bar is not "slipping". The battery life is but
certainly strong attributes such as volume, display lighting, as well as on-and off-operations dependent (my opinion).
10 - Conclusion: Very very ernsthaft..ich do make music, I like listening to music and I hate dungy technical stuff ... I am in the generation "first Walkman" grew up, had one of the first MP3 player
64MB (!) ... So for the equivalent of 20 DMark gabs at any time what comparable !!! If you want a cheap gift for your nephew / niece, when it should be cheap and OK, if you with
Life compromises can and, at best, have their own alternative headphones and a light, and "ungeil to steal" device needs ... here it is!
Addendum: a "hold button" would have all topped off
