Technology:
The Logitech G910 is the new flagship of Logitech Gaming - series. It is very well done by the processing and the design here.
It is a mechanical keyboard with the new "ROMER G Switches" Omron. Furthermore, the stop distance of the keys was reduced to 1.5mm. Both together should bring about an improvement in the reaction time of up to 25%. The switches feel similar to the G710 + (Cherry MX Brown). One needs subjectively minimal strength.
I personally feel that you notice the difference to G 710+. This is confirmed in the sensing of the switching point and at play. The switching point you realize at the 910 only very easy, but you still get a feedback from the keys. However, you do not have typical clack more. For a mechanical keyboard is very quiet.
The top of the keys is not just smooth. Instead, the pages are slightly raised. This can best be described with reference to the pattern of the W, A, S, D, keys. Everything is located outside the contour of the frame around the letter is slightly increased.
This gives a bit better grip on the keys, but also prevents a little that you can slide your fingers on the buttons located above.
Since I mainly play shooter that G-keys are rather unimportant for me. Nine are in number, here are 3 different profiles possible, which can be selected via the buttons M1-M3. The keys G6-G9, which are arranged in blocks directly over the first F-keys, I find something inconveniently located. Here you can easily get the wrong button.
From the Bigger the 910 and 710+ are very similar.
Whether your feet are on or unfolded, the Tatstatur is stable and non-slip on the desk. The feet are relatively wide and stable, so you have to have no fear that the keyboard collapses.
Lighting:
We come to the optical part. All keys (except the macro and control buttons) as well as the logos are illuminated with RGB LED's. With the current software from Logitech allows 16.8 million different colors set. You can also set zones, commands and effects. I think there should be something for everyone :-) For this I also have a picture of the driver inserted. The basic color of the illumination is blue. If you install a driver, the G-keys, as well as the lighting can not be controlled. All buttons will light up blue. Too bad, I find that the brightness of the lighting can not be set. It just goes on or off, but the lighting does not dazzle even in complete darkness. I personally like the individually adjustable lighting very well, especially really just light up the characters and not the spaces.
ARX Dock:
Now we come to the ARX Dock. This in my opinion is somehow unnecessary. After the death of my old G5 (RIP) I've gotten used to the absence of a screen or on a second monitor. Nevertheless, I want to tell you / you bring this a little closer. I tested the dock with an iPhone 5 with its edges it should have a super grip, I thought to myself. If the smartphone but is upright, it is a relatively shaky. Horizontal holding the smartphone course without problems. A tablet is too heavy for the small Kunststoffdock, although it fits, but you get the feeling it might break under load.
I would also like to write at this point about the app, but after about half an hour, the app still had no connection. At this point, I then first capitulated. If I will someday be successful, which is of course supplemented here.
Finally, I would like to say that both the G710 and the G910 + have a current consumption of 500mA at 5V. Ergo not consume the G910 more electricity.
Conclusion:
The concept of the smartphone as a display is quite nice. However, the holder could be better and a USB port for charging would be nice. Furthermore, I am of the opinion that the purchase price of the keyboard even a halfway decent display could be incorporated.
The variable lighting and especially the new Romer-G switches with the shortened stop distance are very pleasant. I find the keyboard from technical and qualitative point of view, good, but also expensive. Therefore, my suggestion is: if you buy / She needs. However, I would wait for an offer.
