The hazelnuts which I have received generally taste good but nothing more, nothing less. However, premium quality needs more intense taste of hazelnuts. I'm using hazelnuts since 58 years and the last few years, I notice how the flavor significantly reduced. What are the lies I do not know, the farming land is exhausted of nutrients or other reasons responsible. Last year I bought 3kg hazelnuts before Christmas at the supermarket and this Hazelnuts had tasted not to hazelnuts. The shell skin did not go after heating and manual rubbing in a towel and shut. Interestingly, the taste quality is generally still mostly very good to excellent with almonds. More I can not say. I use the hazelnuts to nougat and Christmas cakes to make.
