After my original lamp slammed; I quickly looked for other Epson products as the asking price is unreasonable. I can not yet judge the longevity, but for me the performance is consistent with the Epson model. The brightness and contrast seem even better; but this is probably due to the fact that the performance of the original lamp should wither before giving up the ghost.

Installation is very simple and I am basically very happy with the money saved
