Negatives:
- Mirror display (unfortunately any smartphone, a film puts things right)
- USB and HDMI connector without cover and both on the left side (see Samsung Wave as you do it right)
- Battery cover and locking mechanism makes a bad impression, here would have abgucken of Samsung are
- BB World has very few apps, neither KakaoTalk, Line still ChatOn there are native to BB 10
- BB 10 behaves often as iOS: Shortcuts often lead first to the settings, so only links
- Not all BB menus are rotatable
- BB Hub not integrated all IMs and has no option for it (so far seemingly only calls + BBM + SMS + Email + WhatsApp + Facebook + Twitter)
- Primitive MP3 Player
- Primitive camera app
- Keyboard shows LETTERS ALWAYS GREAT TO (as in iOS)
- Keyboard changes according to BB's own apps, times are above figures, sometimes there is no Enter key
- Keyboard word suggestions are often in impossible cases that do not fit (Windows Phone does it better!)
- Word suggestions appear partially over the next "logical" letters or on the Space key, you may need to look for something in comparison with Windows Phone's proposals always appear above the keyboard, in part, it is sufficient to type only there.
- Word suggestions on the Space key prevent typing just the Space key
- Keyboard is not elected to that input language, and displays in the case of German / English always "German / English" at
- No Swype / Swiftkey support
- Not all Android apps work (ok, that was to be expected)
- Google Play is not supported
- BB ID not really different from a Google account, an iTunes account or a Live Account
- No Nokia Here drive available, this is the KillerApp when you need navigation
- No prepaid cards for purchases available, as they are for Google, Apple or Microsoft
- Apps can not be installed on SD card (see Bada and Tizen, or move as in Android)
- No account separation for individuals possible
Positives:
+ Sharp and bright display
+ Grippy back
+ Sufficient grip surface on the sides
+ Limited multitasking, user has control, significant advantage over Android
+ Hub similar to Bada
+ Excellent calendar with all the options for recurring appointments, significantly better than on Windows Phone, Bada, iOS or Android
+ New and interesting approach to unlock the phone, the possibility of a longer sequence, however, I would have preferred.
+ Clock with alarm, countdown and stop function (nowadays seems not to be more standard, see competition)
+ Notepad app on board with image and voice function (nowadays seems not to be more standard, see competition)
+ Browser dominated Flash
+ Many Android apps work: Amazon Appstore, Amazon MP3, Opera, KakaoTalk (not via Amazon Appstore), Line, AnkiDroid, ...
+ User replaceable battery
+ SD card slot
+ Smartphone can also be used without SIM
Update after 5 months usage:
Bugs are not fixed and can not be reproduced by the developers, the bug tracker is also woefully slow and you do get naked when reporting a bug.
- The News Hub sometimes depends on just when you try to delete a message. As a result, you can no longer use the lift unless you start the device.
- The preview of messages can easily freeze, any further message on the display, eg "Schreenshot been saved" then remains to be seen on the screen also to reboot.
- Rotation lock is faulty: If you activate this in Landscapemodue, the unit switches to Portrait mode. So it's a portrait mode and no rotation lock.
Oh, a restart takes forever.
