I have long wondered whether only I should buy a new camera, was with the pictures of my Kodak P850 actually still very satisfied. I had read quite a few super zoom models from Kodak and Minolta. I had previously only for the Panasonic FZ 50 interested but I was always too expensive. Then the Fujifilm S 100 of the I heard a lot of good came but unfortunately the price for me was too high. After that I did not care a long time on the subject until I came to the successor of the S100 on the S200EXR, and then the huge price collapse since I could not resist. For me were interesting: -Manual Zoom, -good pictures at high ISO values (for which Fuji yes known) -Good macro. For me, this is the perfect camera, you have many options and the difference in image quality SLR is naturally present, but in my opinion perfectly adequate and overall made up for by the operational flexibility of the S200EXR. Sure you get for the Peis today already a DSLR but with what kind of lens? , And accessories are expensive. The images up to ISO 400 are Top, 800 ISO still usable, which is about what is for emergencies. The automatic works flawlessly even the white balance, even where some of them have problems.
The only thing that really annoys me is that there is no TTL flash control, (that even had my old Kodak) the hot shoe could be so may be omitted. As soon as one turns the external flash has stopped working the Internal lightning also, you can not use it so well for a bounce flash and the built-take as direct (that went already with my old Kodak.) To use an external flash you must Adjust so the aperture and flash intensity always manually to get decent results.
But since this is really the only thing I have to complain about, I'm very happy with my decision and can recommend this camera safely.
