Since the 1990's the US crime series with delight female Pathologinnen who (unrealistically) actively interfere in the police investigation, great popularity. Just think of "Crossing Jordan", "Bones" or "Rizzoli & Isles". "Body of Proof" takes its place in this series, but it has brought the series to only three seasons, which I think is a pity, because I like it well.
Dana Delany (Desperate Housewives) takes over the leading role of the pathologist Dr. Megan Hunt. Dr. Hunt was successful neurosurgeon until a car accident has left a lasting sensory disturbance in the hands. This they could not practice their profession and moved to the pathology, where they often offend with their impatient and unfriendly way.
Dr. Hunt is compassionate and has a good eye for detail, but is also stubborn and goes resolutely and domineering with the order with their colleagues, suspects and even their superiors. It is not a flawless Sympathiträgerin and can be tough and unyielding. Bad I find jealousy and bitchiness with which they reacted to her ex-husband and his new girlfriend, her supervisor Dr. Kate Murphy.
Very realistic work is represented at the crime scenes. Dr. Hunt appears as spick and span at the crime scenes, dressed in designer clothes and high-heeled shoes each morning. The hair she wears open on the little flattering plastic suits that are worn in real life by the investigators, so as not to contaminate the crime scene, is dispensed with unrealistically.
The supporting roles are well cast, led by Dr. Peter Hunt's assistant I really like. The criminal cases are varied, there are (as usual in television thrillers) several suspects and turns before the case is resolved in the final minutes. An important role is played by the private lives of the protagonists, especially Dr. Hunt's relationship with her daughter Lacey, for her ex-husband got custody, and her mother, a judge.
I like the series quite well, but you have to get used to type that, as mentioned, often comes opinionated first time Dr. Hunt. The roles are well cast, both the coroner and the criminalists of. All in all, I welcome the series.
