Predecessor was an Athlon II X2 270 (3.4 GHz), this reached in Windows 7 Experience Index 6.6.
The Phenom II X4 965 achieved the same motherboard 7.4, which is a significant difference!
For comparison; My Intel i5-3570K achieved in the Windows Experience Index 7.6.
Taking into the price range, the Phenom is a very good choice.
Unfortunately, there are real grounds for criticism; the boxing fans!
I have already installed many CPUs but the noise of the AMD fan defies description.
Something you can not approve a manufacturer actually.
In normal operation, the CPU is around 42 degrees Celsius, the fan case revolves almost 4,500 revolutions and is definitely too loud.
In the game mode that takes then to completely different dimensions.
I have several, small remote controlled helicopter.
Honestly; AMD fan is louder in the play mode!
Absolutely unacceptable.
Since the CPU is otherwise very good, I will start looking for a good fan.
Conclusion:
As already mentioned several times, the CPU of the price / performance ratio is really top.
The fan is an absolute no-go!
Addendum 11.01.2012:
I have the boxing fan replaced by a "Alpenföhn Panorama".
This is reasonably priced and really very quiet.
