Does what it is intended, certain points but strong improvement

One thing first: the Abziehset works well, provided you know what you're doing. Very practical is the storage of the ceramic rods in the wooden block. The Abziehset can thus also be taken on the go. So why only 3 (actually 2.5) star?

First star gone: Service
The inexperienced novice and opportunity grinder can Lansky quite cold in the rain.
The German manual reads thus:
"... With the blade vertically up and down, drag it to the sharpening stone down and towards you, as like slicing bread, carefully and without hurry ....". A youtube video later, in which the handling of Abziehsets is explained (highly recommended!), You can laugh at something, of course, at first glance, this is not so funny. The two ceramic couples enjoy the aesthetic tinged users by a pleasant "light and dark" contrast, where the functional difference between the two is, Lansky reveals only indirectly. A pair is "medium", the other "Fine grit", which, however, which is concretely, the user may even errätseln (ie look up on the internet). However, the Lansky homepage itself is this not helpful (I think that the light bars are the "fine", but I'm still not 100% sure).
Further, it would be interesting to know what is best (or which in any case), the ceramic rods must be cleaned (of steel abrasion is remarkable!) And this one must strive the Internet.

Second Star futsch: quality assurance
The wood quality of my block of wood is not good. Do not get me wrong, the wood itself is OK, but my wood block has an ugly flaw (material dependent) and a forefinger long gap in one of the corners. To the drilling of two (of four) holes for the ceramic rods are broken small pieces of wood. The function is not affected by the called "quirks", I would this state but called B-Ware. Since the product is sold but at a premium price (in the United States costs the thing converted only 17), there is one point less.

The product picture is also not to be taken seriously. The elegant light wood color in the photo has nothing to do with the (delivered me) reality, the labeling is different. Instead of "Crock Stick" is it just a boring "Lansky".

Conclusion: Good Abziehset for more experienced users who attach no importance to the outside and want to take it sometimes outside. For beginners with no additional reading (almost) useless.
