includes the effects of certain firmware versions a mistake! Even if he chooses Annex B there not adopted this setting correctly and got German providers do not sync to the DSLAM because of scale in certain firmware versions Annex B / J / M mode in Germany this router did not work, yet this was precisely selected , With the latest update version 3.0.0.4.376_2152 this error is finally resolved. However, if you get the bugged firmware version you have to manually switch on Annex B and then after that the sync to the DSLAM is no problem!
Enclosed is a photo on the manual process can be seen and will have your fun on this device. It's a really Oberklassiger router! Strong buy recommendation!
Below the original correspondence from the ASUS Support to report the error within the router:
Yes indeed there is a bug with firmware v3.0.0.4.376_2139 and beta v3.0.0.4.376_2144, problem is indeed in QIS (Quick Setup Manager) Annex B mode setting (Actually sets Annex B / J / M mode) Which failed to take effect. THUS leads to Annex mode silently in default Annex A / I / J / L / M mode and result in failure sync up with Germany Annex B and J DSLAM deployed by ISPs. On DSL SettingsPage, Annex Mode displays Although Annex B / J / M and can be configured but would not work.
We already Addressed this issue and updated beta firmware will be released officially on support site today. My apologies.
Current solution as follow, could you please kindly share with other users Germany if possible, Perhaps in a forum? Many thanks.
1. Downgrade to Earlier firmware v3.0.0.4.376_2072.

2. Or if synced up Annex mode is indeed Annex B Earlier then could go to DSL Settings tab and set Annex mode to fixed Annex B (Which is what you have done). For Annex J mode users, I am afraid downgrade to firmware v3.0.0.4.376_2072 for now is a must.
Best regards,
Paul Lee
Comments:
To get a stable connection and to be able to use the internet almost Settings Manager It was first needed to set the Annex mode to Annex B over Administration-> DSL Configuration window and apply it.
It was not possible to apply it during Quick Setup manager (even though i selected it!) To get the connection up and running. There is a bug in the Quick Setup Manager i guess.
That is why many people gave the router back Because They Could not reach a connection to the ISP over this router.
