Either one is looking for a multifunction telephone. For a true smartphone with customizable applications, we must aim higher than this Samsung C3310: it turns iOS nor (obviously) or Android, so for the applications market, we can only rely on the Samsung store. Which offers nothing for this model since this summer. Be careful when I say "offers nothing more" it does not only mean that there are no new applications. It also means that all the old ones are no longer downloadable.
For the smartphone part is so missed. At the same time, 70 you would expect.
Remains which gives its name to this phone: the "player", that is to say, the music playback function. Personally, that's why I chose this phone: have both phone and mp3 player in a single object. Yes but no. For to use, we quickly notice that the integrated music player is not practical at all:
- The phone has no connection (excluding jack and power outlet). The one and only way to add or remove mp3 is to open the shell, remove the microSD card (purchased separately, but hey it is cheap, that's not the problem), insert it in his computer, making them content changes, put the card into the phone and close it. In other words, you rarely will change your playlist. Why not have expected a USB output?
- If you have a lot of mp3, even if they are classified in directories, navigating the player menu is slowed. It takes several seconds between the time you press the title of an album and when playback is started.
- Finally (but it is the choice of touch), it is obviously impossible to navigate the mp3 library blind, directly hand in pocket, to change songs such; what can be done with a more classical player equipped with buttons, which soon comes to recognize the touch
The Mini Player 2 is also equipped with an FM tuner. I tested it in town, on a perfectly covered by the radio sector; many stations were not captured, and on the other the sound was very bad, full of parasites.
Add to that a touch navigation a bit too sensitive (we easily scroll through the lists faster than desired), and you will understand that beyond its phone function (which works well, okay but good), the Player Mini 2 is moderately satisfactory.
If you just want a little extra player to listen 2-3 songs from time to time (and you do not often change pieces of library), it can go. But if you are looking for the equivalent of a real player with the ability to call better buy a GT-E1050 to phone and music player Creative or Archos 30-40. The total bill will be equivalent or less for a quality much better use. And ultimately, buy a roll of tape if you insist on having only one device ...
(NB: I bought this phone with the Samsung offers 30 refunded, at full price, even without knowing in advance the problems I have just described, I would not have bought it)
