In sum very satisfied!

I'm long-time user of the T-Mobile MDA III for 3 weeks and have "tested" (a predecessor of the HTC Touch HD) and now own the HTC Touch HD him (as a pensioner with plenty of days leisure) in detail.
The device has come handy, you can make calls (voice quality not quite right). Who calls only (and want to hear music) is better off with a normal (smaller) smart phone. The strengths of HTC HD are clearly more on the "data page".
The device is a Windows Mobile smartphone with all the advantages and disadvantages of "Pocket PC Software". Grafted it is the modern "Touch Flo 3D". Touch Flo 3D, and in particular the super matching Opera Browser Ver 9.5 offer at 800 x 440 pin sharp, intensely colored screen the highest pleasure (web, mail, photos, music, weather, stocks, ...). Here works almost everywhere the gravity sensor and when you turn the device to the website or the photos change from portrait to landscape and vice versa. This Touch Flo 3D applications also work very well with all the finger-touch operation (without stylus).
But there comes a point where you need a function from WM V6.1, and here the hermaphrodite existence begins. WM V6.1 is operated usually better with the stylus and does not recognize the G-sensor. Many functions are duplicated (Opera browser versus Internet browser; e-mail programs, settings, ...), but different. Many parameters can be changed only in WM V6.1, collations (photos, music, stocks, ...) carried out in WM V6.1 so in touch Flo Apps otherwise.
For example, the Photo Browser (and Diaschow) of Touch Flo Photos not in order "Recorded" view (I have it at least so far not managed).
Perhaps the standard user is usually already in Touch Flo. I, for one frequently switch between Touch Flo and WM V6.1, when setting up the device might -and also because I'm used to from Windows Mobile predecessor.
Now in more detail:
Communication:
- Bob.at My rather unknown Internet provider was automatically recognized, surfing and MMS and e-mail via GPRS / UMTS 3G and HSDPA works brilliantly. WM V6.1 has quite automatically detect my various email provider Outlook Mail / Hotmail Windows Live (no na!) To Telekom Austria (Aon) and Google Mail.
- Wi-Fi works great (better than my old MDA III), have the whole family house connection to the wireless access point and can be used anywhere to surf via WLAN.
- Use the HTC Touch HD as a modem for my laptop so that I can on vacation - work online outside my home wireless Netzes- with the notebook everywhere (in Austria);
- 2 partnerships (ActiveSync with my XP laptop and Mobile Device Center with my Vista home PC work fine and I synchronize my diverse Outlook data etc. with the HTC Touch HD.
- Bluetooth works so far (ActiveSync via Bluetooth tested).
- GPS works great with the included Google Maps SW "My Location" is recognized even if, the HTC Touch HD (not too far from a window) lying around in the house.. Have my old Navigon MobileNavigator 5 navigation software on HTC installed (not working on Windows Vista, the DVD had to install on my XP notebook / ActiveSync). Works by outstanding (had the fear that the old software does not run on WM V6.1!).
- Various Windows software:
Can the opinion that I have read in reviews that old Pocket PC software is not running on the HTC Touch HD, do not share in general.
Have various freeware programs (Total Commander, Orionic, computer games (Pocket Sudoku, Chess, ...) installed to function. WM V6.1 has also been a Sun Java installation (WM 2003 had not), I need no MIDlet Manager more.
- Office
Well, have Word, Excel, ... tried, better than the WM2003, but even the great HTC display makes it really not fun to edit these files or to view larger documents!
- Camera:
Am positively surprised by the 5 megapixel camera, very sharp and well illuminated. Have a 2 megapixel camera on the Nokia 6267 mobile phone, no Verleich!

Opera browser on HTC HD screen Quadruple A !!!
Device quickly, very communicative, good camera
many (WM V6.1) functions well expandable
Disadvantage: hermaphrodite Operation Touch Flo 3D / WM V6.1
The excellent display outshines everything -> 5 Stars!
