At the opening of the package and grip, immediately we feel that it's good military equipment (knife marine team since the 2nd World War): solid, solid, well finished, no frills or gadget. The blade is 17.5 cm long (note: the handle is integral for strength), and just over 4mm thick; the handle is leather, and the knife is very well balanced, it fits comfortably in the hand, has a good grip. Total length: 30 cm. The blade is sharpened original, but I think we can improve further. The Case is leather, with the USMC logo, and again it's solid: 8mm thick! In short, we see immediately that there is a very good tool, solid, made to last and ... cut! Before I had a cheap hunting knife, and after making a cut after midday in the wood, there was the game in the handle, the guard ... not very solid. I have not yet tested the ka bar, but just the look, I think I will not have the same worries. I recommend this purchase.
