I have no training in philosophy and came to Bergson by other texts, seduced by its language and clarity, as well as by his criticism of a certain philosophy of unnecessary questions and incomprehensible jargon. I thought so be free of it by reading the first work of Bergson. Disappointment! The book is generally difficult to access, confused in articulating his argument, and obsessed with problems that do not touch me.
