This digital camera (and I can confirm only) makes no bad pictures, all the positive experiences of my previous reviewers I certainly do not need to be repeated. The camera is recommended for those who want to have a little compact in the hand (no "Photo Waffle" for your shirt pocket but no Schlagwumme for the defense) and that are perhaps a little experiment and want to get the best out of their photos and even an optical viewfinder and a good LCD display value. There are lots of settings and effects with which you can make extravagant images. For example, the adjustable gray filter is interesting or the possibility of certain colors from the photos already filter out recording. Own configurations can be saved and used more quickly. One must of course deal with the camera settings, as you might a little disappointed with the normal default. At first I was a little upset about the colors. From my old "Casio 5700" I was normal colors used (in Program mode) but with the P7100 I was scared when I photographed my lawn in the garden and the grass shone as if it were fluorescent. The P7100 brightens by default to something so you should adjust the exposure on the dial down by a factor of 0.3 or -0.7. Also you can adjust the sharpness control and the contrast up slightly. The specified flash range of 9m is pretty good. However, I have to smile at the always integrated Lächelautomatik. But would now like to the things that do not please me. When price to 400, - Euro could actually a 2nd battery (replacement battery) expect a simple carrying case would have still may be heading. Another minus point is the nonstandard mini-USB port, here you own cable is always on the Nikon instructed. I do not understand why you do not installed the usual mini-USB jack. Furthermore, I noticed when you connect the camera via USB to the PC, the camera appears as a drive only in Windows Explorer own. So who likes to work with a file manager of their choice, will not find the "Camera drive" here. The required SD memory card that you have to buy yourself is still to cope with, although the storage media no longer cost today, "the world". Now I would like to draw attention to the absolute "hit" from Nikon and regard it as an outrage by Nikon, because who (Nikon) of the type "EN-EL14" uses no original battery in the P7100, has bought nothing. The alternative on the market lithium-ion batteries of the type "EN-EL14" are identical in form and voltage value with the original but here Nikon has incorporated an electronic lock as the printer manufacturers in their printer cartridges. Who value on a replacement battery sets (which, is usually normal), the Nikon can smile with more than 50, - Euro for an original battery sweeten. Unfortunately, I noticed too late and would have rather not buy this camera. Due to the lack of accessories, such as Battery and bag, as well as the addictive USB socket and the compulsion to the original Nikon battery, I prefer from two stars.
