Unfortunately, with rare exceptions, I did not find in this book what I wanted.
The authors seem content to list and vaguely describe the features offered by the software, but without going into detail and especially without the didactic side that is usually found in this collection. Everything is flown too high to actually learn to use even basic way of this software.
The illustrations, many (and color) are of no use. It never describes how one comes to the presented results. Some of the technical issues discussed in the book may have brought me more confusion than clarification, I think particularly in chapters 2 and 3, which concern the preparation for editing (color depth changes, resampling. ..).
In short, I have not learned much more things during my week of trial and error alone.
In defense of the authors, maybe the task was too daunting. This software seems to have a lot of opportunities, may be too much to be described correctly in just 442 pages.
