I chose a piece of land and I removed all slugs that were there. There I then placed the barrier of 4 sides by pushing the spikes into the ground and I filled the soil of a few centimeters square on to leave no space that would have allowed slugs to pass underneath. In the middle I put a small round tray containing thoughts, taking care that nothing can exceed enable slugs to move without having to cross the barrier. The test was very successful after the first two night: no slug in the pot. I was delighted. Unfortunately after the 3rd night I found 6 slugs installed in my flowerpot. I do not understand how they were able to spend as flaps and angles do not leave any gaps in their way, or they may still cross the ledge, or they pass under the fence by digging under the ground. I do not see where I could have made a mistake in the installation having carefully followed the sketch shown on the box and I know what to do ...
