Print:
So I invested a lot of time, for example in setting up a network printer (Canon MP640) via WLAN. The printer was only recognized, but produced only communication error. From the second installation of the printer was then recognized only as a scanner, with which I can not print. Only after some studies in forums I came out that when the printer viewfinder the IP address of the printer must be entered manually. He is instantly recognized.
The same game the way I had yesterday with a new Epson WorkForce 3520 wlan.
Next bothered me that print settings (such as duplex) must be reset every time you print. In Windows, you its standard time and then might differ manually them.
iMovie:
The reason why I anschaffte the MacBook Pro, was to edit my quite extensive Full HD movies at last without errors. But there were exactly the same problems as my old white MacBook. The duration to produce a project (if it was because times) was, not shorter.
I have at the time as my white MacBook was not sold, once made a parallel comparison and can produce both MacBooks same movie. The white MacBook was not significantly faster, but it was fast!
Since I had just transferred all data, both disks were incidentally equal filled, so no one gets the idea to write a comment, the MacBook Pro would have been too crowded. Of the approximately 200GB 500GB were used.
Ease of use:
Dealing with MacOS is basically no problem. Everything is very similar to Windows. However, much is also much simplified and must be given for going beyond adjustments to work a lot with the "Terminal", which is unlikely to be for everyone.
What's made me mad for example, that you can not turn off that the MacBook goes into hibernation when it snaps shut, or folded can not be operated with an external monitor if it was not attached to the wall socket.
Noise:
In normal operation the notebook is whisper quiet. Already when watching YouTube videos the fan starts running but already and generates a considerable hiss.
Boot time:
Again, I have to say that my white MacBook would not have to hide. The MacBook Pro was raised just a few seconds faster.
Crashes:
Of the numerous crashes of iMovie I have already written above (error -108). As this occurred even when the white MacBook, you can, but do not blame the MacOS or iMovie MacBook Pro.
However, I had one year about 5 times a total crash. Here, the screen was frozen and displayed a message that I should restart the device. After restarting, but still no error was present.
Display:
The display is very bright vigorous and razor sharp. One reason, the sole reason to upgrade to a MacBook with Retina display, I therefore do not see.
Processing:
The material quality is of course great. The housing acts and is processed very valuable and great.
Conclusion:
Overall, I could not convince the MacBook Pro. Since I could not give it back, unfortunately, after the initial euphoria, to finally be away from Windows, I held a year from it. Well grew in me but the realization that I would no longer pursue with this notebook my filming without 300 to invest in Final Cut Pro, but of the circulating Similar messages as iMovie on the Internet.
Thus, I am in my year MacOS excursion again in Windows back. There now I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 video editing and Photoshop CS5 for my photos. Everything is going very much rounder than the Mac.
I find this ales very unfortunate because I hate to separate myself from the beautiful look of MacBooks. Also that the MacBook has just so disappointed in Apple-domain video editing, I do not understand.
With Apple, I am but (except for the iPod) finished first for some years.
