One of Asmedia 106x cards Sata 3 Controller is installed on a CM Asus P5LD2 Deluxe, Windows XP 32-bit, the other on a CM Asus Sabertooth X58 Windows 7 64-bit. The drivers were updated with the latest version of the manufacturer. Findings: The cards are recognized during the boot and allow better read 2TB Seagate drives connected to these cards SATA 3. But 1 / impossible to "Boot" on these discs. 2 / the utility (free) provided by Seagate to check the status of the brand discs, sil works perfectly on disks connected directly to sockets SATA 2 CM, does not recognize the same disks connected to the SATA controller Asmedia 106x cards. 3 / A cloning of a disc on another connected on both Asmedia card was discontinued after six hours because work not navançait while the same work on the same directly connected SATA disks catch 2 of the CM was successfully completed in an hour and a half (in Windows 7). As for the read / write speeds, made gains over SATA 2 of CM are not significant. Why 2 stars, because despite everything, these cards allow to read / write to discs (sometimes with "absences" though) and when lon lack of SATA socket, this is useful if lon knows the weaknesses of these cards.
