The idea may be original, addressed the theme of quality, fascinating but I confess I'm still forced to cling to the characters. Too full of action, often improbable, and actually a little too 'big' (in every sense). It seems to me that the words fly over all metaphysical issues addressed in the book, and that's why it's disappointing. In the same vein, there Barjavel Night time, and there, it is simpler and less far-fetched, especially it works, it is the kind of book I read many times . More The First Day is just the first part of the story, (500 pages anyway) and it was not until the final pages of The First Night (the second Tome) for an answer to the questions addressed. The illusion does not work so too, or at least, not as much as the other novels by the same author. I had the impression both to make an effort to understand more how the hero came to such deductions as if he lacked the steps. We try to forgive these shortcuts altogether fetched, the lack of depth of the characters, but it is not easy when there is 500 pages ... This gap between the quality of the subject matter and the story imagined by The author is irritating. By forcing a little, we can be convinced that we spent a good read, but the disappointment quickly takes over.
