The Da Vinci Code - Da Vinci Code (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Like on Batman Begins one has the feeling that Hans Zimmer has this soundtrack heavily tailored to the film. I have a such a seamless interplay of music and film has rarely experienced. The "downside" of such soundtracks, especially for film music fans who do not want so deeply into the matter is, of course, that they will receive less outstanding issues and erinnerbare elements. And just Hans Zimmer has indeed some soundtracks with very strong themes.

However, professional critics expected the score, so please you read it, too on various relevant pages. If you listen closely, you can see the musical subtleties, the elaborately produced choirs which certainly exists, but subtle issues and the overall atmospheric mood. The score perfectly matches the film, great heroic melodies make here simply does not make sense. It is a complicated, intellectual and kinky movie that comes along at the same time as a thriller.

From Bombastik may be in this soundtrack is absolutely no question, Room restrains himself and directed the music very much on the characters. There is a very dark theme for the ecclesiastical secret society "Opus Dei", tragically beautiful choruses that recall "Hannibal" and eerie violins as in "The Ring". Only very occasionally trumps on the soundtrack, namely when it comes to the successful experiences of the character "Robert Langdon" (eg in track 13). Then we hear the typical Hans-room sound. Fans who expect before subjects only so exuberant music like "Gladiator" will be disappointed by the soundtrack to on vinous passages. However, anyone who wants to experience the perfect combination of music and film, will have his joy.

All in all, you should have seen the film in order to understand the soundtrack. Above all, it takes time to identify the structure of these serious musical fare. Hans Zimmer has here, matching the movie, got off to a sophisticated soundtrack and underlining for Batman Begins again, that he is willing to experiment. I would almost go so far as to say that this score so far is his best work technically, unfortunately the entertainment value for the themed handset remains on track. However, a difficult to understand how this film simply calls for a score, which brings the audience closer to the characters - and not distract by single pompous melodies. This is a thriller, not epic. Therefore: a perfect job, Hans Zimmer!
