Not the same as the old model (which lasted me 20 years and was recently withdrawn from the market). It is compatible with the old removable handle. I recommend washing it in the dishwasher to make it last as long as possible coating. The value price still remains acceptable and several models are available for sale for different types of dishes. All in all, not disappointed
