In the weeks since the purchase of shredders was Genie 580 XCD almost daily in my application: Here and there every now and then a piece of paper, but never larger quantities. Only for some tests I have repeatedly fed him at the same time each with five to seven leaves, which he was allowed to take a break between meals.
In practice, I do not destroy the contents of paper files, and in a short time, but I want to make relatively frequently the content individual sheets unreadable for others, perhaps even the leaves of a thin wallet, a stack of papers, etc. this is the Genie 580 XCD ideally suited. Clean and high quality finish and equipped with a robust cutting, it can handle these tasks loosely and without abnormalities. Even larger tasks I would give it more confidence, which is then but recommended not to go with the number of simultaneously inserted leaves up to the specified limit of seven leaf.
The result of his work can be admired in the form of tiny scraps of paper. Since prying fellow goes by the interest in a possible puzzle. In terms of data security, the extra cutting mechanism for CDs and credit cards, however, is unnecessary. Software and scissors are here the more secure data destruction tools. The possibilities of Genie 580 XCD exhaust themselves in an "off", "auto" and a "rev" (ers). According to the manufacturer / Amazon shredder shredded up to seven sheets at a time (at 80g / m²). In practice, he grabs the problems; I would trust him even one or two leaves more. However, we hear with increasing number of blades, as the cutter is increasingly availed: The rotational speed of the rolls decreases and thus the speed at which the sheets are cut. With a high number of simultaneously inserted leaves also can be found in clippings scattered, long strips of paper. It can be seen in this piece of paper, the 18mm long snippets that punch the cutting, but no longer can separate them. But this occurs only from five leaves and even with seven leaves you will find only a few long strips. Of these, except the Genie 580 XCD crushed the paper neatly into the smallest snippets, each sheet of A4 paper 800 pieces in all. Only CDs and credit cards are preserved only rudimentary before being able to read data from them.
