My PC has no built-in USB3.0 interface. Therefore, I bought a PCIe card with USB3.0 sockets. Unfortunately, the jacks are now back on the PC - where all other connectors also come in. Therefore, I needed an extension cord, with which I could move the interface to easily forward to not always cumbersome to connect my USB3.0 device at the rear of the PC. The first ordered cable - a supposedly high-quality gold-plated contacts - indeed worked, but only with data rates that are equivalent to the USB2.0 interface. I have a cable sent back and looked around for a new one. I was surprised to read the reviews on the different extension cable (USB3.0) - with all the cables, there are probably one-fifth of user problems. This cable here seemed all reviews yet, the "best" in terms of functionality to be. Ordered - and no regrets. I now have data transfer rates of initially 130 MB / s, which goes back in large files at about 75 MB / s. With USB2.0, there were only about 30 MB / s.
