Some of the operations that I made, which take many ... 5 min
1. I plug the repeater
2. I log on its SSID in wifi (NETGEAR_EXT), I'm going to the site 'mywifiext.com' (served by the repeater)
3. I choose the SSID on the interface of my Livebox (say roger)
4. I type the WPA-PSK key of the Livebox
5. suggests me a SSID for the Repeater: roger_ext. I erase the '_EXT' and asked to use the same SSID as the Livebox (roger)
6. it asks me to see the last page to confirm proper operation. I put in a blind spot of the Livebox to the laptop connects to the repeater (if he can talk to my livebox that knows no site 'mywifiext.com') and I am entitled to netgear congratulations. I think this last step is optional, but it is reassuring.
So we can use the same SSID as the box and it's totally transparent. No need to have 2 SSIDs. I do not live in a castle so I can not judge the scope, but it's much better with than without.
5 stars for WN2000RPT Netgear.
