For French Schneider: The device works through its plastic components mediocre sound. I would imagine that where metal and plastic are attached to each other, the plastic gives way eventually. But perhaps it holds so by a few years.
At first use, there was nothing to complain about. First I want to press the first potato slowly and carefully. And I was immediately stuck and afraid that the device breaks apart, if I continue to push with full force.
Then it occurred to me that someone wrote in a review that one must press the potato powerfully in a train. So it worked. To cut a few kilos in one go is not a problem and is quite fix.
When I read in the reviews that someone of French Schneider is broken when pressed, I suspect that he has inserted upside down the cutting insert.
With regard to the complaints from some reviews that the rods are quite short (a maximum of 8.5 cm): clear, longer would be beautiful. But longer potatoes would also be larger, and then would the pressure to which the mechanism of this unit would withstand so great that the unit would break apart (in my opinion). Who wants to have a long stick, would be forced to look for a larger device that is built stronger.
Cleaning is relatively simple. With Spülbürste and fingers my turn at all. You just have to pull out the cutting insert up and the pressure plate slimming (lasts 5 seconds), then you get immediately everywhere tuned. The device consists of pleasing a few parts.
The wide suction base adheres also slam on my countertop, whose surface is not as smooth as glass, but slightly textured.
A small imperfection is that the last millimeter of each potato is not completely cut through. This last millimeter is only completely severed when the next potato nachdrückt. At the last potato you must then firmly grasp the package of seed which hangs out front and pull out towards the front, so that even here the last millimeter is severed.
That has in the 3 cutting inserts of a 9 mm and the other 10 mm edge length, I find meaningless. What is this tiny difference? Effectively you only have 2 cutting insert sizes, and from a practical size 2 copies with an insignificant difference.
All in all, I'm only happy times, that I no longer have to manually rumsäbeln to the potatoes and that now all rods are evenly. How long by holding the part, I'll see. Perhaps we are indeed old together, we both.
