I have bought a total of four of the Shakers and the same with all you need to start mehere attempts to close the lid tightly.

I had already thought that each shaker its very special cover needs and I have the parts swapped, but realized that any combination of cover and Shaker equals schwieirig to close really tight.

It is wohll on "threaded" from either the lid or Shaker ... so no unconditional recommendation, I would not buy again.
