As it often is not always very clear for us Mac users, whether diverse hardware running on OS X, I do not want to keep to myself my experiences.
Please note there is the Intel Mac Pro first generation two things above all:
1:
USB 3.0 is supported natively by Apple only since June 2012! (At that time were the first Macs with USB 3.0, MacBooks)
2:
I needed under OS X USB 3.0 Universal Driver!
This can best be accomplished using the tool "Multi Beast".
Another point:
The card has a Molex power connector, this should also be used!
Order Y-cable and branch off from the DVD-ROM drive.
USB 3.0 hubs (active) and 3.5 "HD docks funktioneren excellent at read / write rates above 150 MB / s!
;-)
So, do not hesitate for long, BUY!
Full marks!
Side note:
The USB 3.0 extension Amazon Basics unfortunately only work with USB 2.0 speed.
Whether this is now on the cables Amazon's own, on the computer or on the card, I can not say with certainty.
The HUB's and docks and other devices connected directly to the card, run!
Now have other cables ordered (red Delock, 2 meters), let's see ...
UPDATE: the two red Delock 2 meters extensions work wonderfully, read / write rates over 150MB / s! (Cost from well 11, - / pc!) ;-)
