CSL - USB 3.0 SuperSpeed PCMCIA Express Card (34mm / 2 Port / Windows 7 + Windows 8 compatible) for Notebook Laptop | USB Hub internal (electronic) 5
Looking for a USB 3.0 extension for my 2011er MacBook Pro 17 ", I have this ExpressCard found. The map not ran at first attempt with the Macbook but after a firmware update and a patched drivers (nothing for amateurs ...) I got the card in USB3 mode for running and / hinbekommen transmission rates of over 100 MB s. However, it is far from plug and play (in the MAC) and virtually impossible for people without technical knowledge. That was me but before buying aware and therefore does not lead to deduction of points. For all who are interested, I can say that my card with a NEC / Renesas uPD720202 is equipped. A pity, I find that the inserted USB cable hold not as good as usual, but that in my opinion is also not possible if such is the case here nothing looks out of the ExpressCard slot out.
Positives: - Excellent price / performance ratio - Runs in the Apple - Disappears completely in the card slot - 2 ports
Negatives: - USB jacks do not hold the plug perfectly - Plugs are a few milimeter more from the socket out than with other USB ports
Despite the negative points I can only give full credit especially by the price!
