Was picked a Mini Maglite flashlight. Guinea pigs were
1x Duracell Ultra Power AAA
1x AAA Aldi Nord
1x AAA Ikea
All batteries are "fresh" from the store and have at least with me not long storage time or were not cold or other unfavorable factors exposed.
The result surprised me very much. I expected at least a slight edge of its useful life in the Duracell battery. The result looked but like this:
Duracell Ultra Power: 4 hours luminosity
Aldi Nord: 4 hours
Ikea: 5.75 hours
MY CONCLUSION:
Of course, these are not a scientifically based test, but only by a small self-experiment, but obviously in the similar direction goes, as the tests that are already 4-5 years old: brand batteries do not provide decisive advantage in longevity.
Whether the result 1: 1 can also be applied to batteries of other sizes, I can not be conclusively assessed, but assume that the results will be similar. If at the AAA batteries, no significant difference can be seen, this will not be the case also for the other batteries.
Priced at 0.90 for Duracell, 0.20 for Ikea battery and 0.21 for Aldi battery, I will engage in the future to Aldi or Ikea. Leaking batteries I have not had for years, because I start from a corresponding security in all of the above batteries.
The Power Check the Duracell is a nice addition and also seems to work fine. At least it shows in the new battery is "full" and "empty" in empty to. But the same also makes a simple battery tester.
3 stars for an average good battery with a functioning power check, 2-star deduction for the value for money.
