Important was a high luminosity and independence from the electrical outlet. Both met the torch from Varta.
The lamp is made of hard plastic and has three bright LEDs. The lamp is a little clunky and heavy, but has a loop. The crank is smooth but very strong clamped, so that the folding falls somewhat difficult.
The rubber on / off switch goes disproportionately hard, the pressure point for switching requires a lot of finger strength.
Where the switch is still gummed, lacking a non-slip rubber coating of the lamp else entirely. Although it is splash-proof, water-resistant or waterproof it is not.
It is good that you can exchange at least the battery (Lithium Ion Battery). The advertised 30 minutes burn time is reached, however, with 120mAh never - glow has nothing to do with lighting. 3 to 5 minutes, however, can be bridged well and if necessary you have to boost halt. But one is but mobile and independent.
Price-performance is still ok, even if I had hoped for a slightly better finish for a Varta product. For the price, there are already comparable lamps with a longer maturity, more LEDs or even charging function for other devices (eg. As mobile phones). The replaceable battery has been again a plus point - only missing interchangeable LEDs and a rubberized lighter version and I would give it 5 stars!
Update:
After less than 10 months, the lamp does not work anymore. One can stimulate the soul from the body - more than a glimmer no longer comes into existence. For an alleged German brand the ISTR a disgrace. Therefore, no purchase recommendation!
