Unlike the Sony RX 100, the E-PL has 7 the visibly better image quality in all ISO areas (less noise, higher detail) and thus better magnification - reserves. When it comes to color management the Sony RX is actually beaten in my eyes 100 by almost all cameras in JPEG. The blue tint is curb only by setting many tricks at different shooting situations. The E-PL7 is exemplary here. Through their extensive property program, in particular the fixed focal lengths with good light levels, there are very many opportunities. On recent trips I was well equipped with the 14-150mm zoom and the 12mm prime lens. At the long end are photos with the RX 100 bit dull, flash photos are for technical reasons mau. The E-PL7 and the OM-D E5 have, unlike the RX 100 has a touch-sensitive screen, the fast focusing on the area allows.
The RX 100 is pocket fit with a zoom, the compact so can offer no MFT lens and covering a wide range motive. For a compact, the image quality is super down to the colors, but does not come close to the E-PL7.
The Om-D E5 is the largest of the three because of the viewfinder. The picture quality is the best in JPEG. There are in difficult lighting situations much less artifacts when Pixelpeeing than the e-PL7. In Raw image quality both Olympians equals.
I have the OM-D E5 replaced because the e-PL7 is small and pocket-compatible, as the OM-D E5. In the winter I do not need a viewfinder and in the summer I use the optional elbow block VF 2, if the display is too dark. The E-PL7 is still more delicate than the OM-D with this viewfinder. The three axes of the image stabilizer E-PL7 is very good. In daily practice, I do not miss the five-axis stabilization of the E5 while photographing. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that the E-PL7 for itself very good white balance under artificial light some noticeable (Milli -?) Seconds longer required as the OM-D.
As I always shoot parallel JPEGs and RAW, the somewhat poorer quality JPEGs of e-PL7 is irrelevant to me.
The operation he e-PL7 is perhaps a little more uncomfortable than that of E5, but not appreciably. Therefore, the E-PL7 Wifi and Selfie is thus better equipped in the social media era. Handles both Olympics are good; If I compare the battery cover is the E5 worked a little better.
Why do I have the Sony RX 100 yet? Because I now and then just gonna be a good clippers need for your pocket, although I do not like the camera in terms of design, feel and color management. I'd rather have a wish 8 Pana LX 1 inch sensor .... and hope that the LX 100 has here the "smaller" LX series is not completely displaced (what is to be feared).
PS keyword movies: It may be the e-PL7 not quite as good as the Om-D E5, because they sometimes jerky something that is not in my opinion at stability, but at the frame rate, the OM-D processed better felt. The RX 100 is here better than the E-PL7.
Seen price-performance I would forgive currently 5 stars.
