After I now appreciate a battery grip of a DSLR very white (better handling, "stable" overall feeling much longer duration), had of course for my new EOS 60D now also a fitting handle her. Because the camera itself was already a few hundred euros more expensive than its predecessor, I wanted this time not be stingy when choosing a battery grip and ordered the original handle. Although the price me start very deterred, I'm after a few days usage now happy to have not reappointed the cheap copy.
The BG-E9 is an excellent workmanship, no adhesive residue (as in the copy), no sharp edges - everything feels very valuable and simply good. The face handle further has the exact same rubber as the camera, wherein the copy of the company Meike both the color and the structure was different. A small detail, but it falls on. After a few days of use Meike Battery grip broke away near the trigger already gumming (probably worse adhesive), this has not yet happened to me with the original handle.
The locking screw with the original handle has less "game" than with the copy and overall it makes a much more stable impression. Also the closure of the battery carriage seems to be with stronger fabric than the old grip Meike, the BG-E9 no wobbling is to be noted. The carriage for receiving the batteries or commercial batteries is further enhanced by Canon with metal and has no sharp edges. However, the most important difference between Canon and Meike is processing the trigger and wheels on the battery grip. At Canon, they have the exact same pressure point as the camera, half press the shutter button to focus (with positive click action) and completely pressing the button for the purpose of triggering. In the grip of Meike this was significantly less precise. Even the wheel for adjusting aperture and / or shutter just feels better to be processed. The on / off switch handle Likewise snaps tangible and fixed at a Canon.
Lack Meike copy for the 60D, I can not judge how well the registration of the batteries and the general indication of the charge states selbiger works unfortunately. In the original of Canon in any case both batteries (a stock, the other Hahnel HL-E6) properly recognized and the charging status will be displayed correctly.
What I like:
Ergonomics +
+ Pressure point of the trigger
+ Entire feel of the controls
+ Clean sticky rubber that exactly matches the camera
+ Mounting screw budge
+ Just about all is reinforced with metal
+ Processing of the closure of the battery carriage
What I did not like so much:
+ Price
All in all I am very pleased to have decided on the "more expensive" option and would advise anyone who wants to buy accessories for a good, expensive camera, advise the wherewithal to make easy and to pick up the original - even if I whose Price overpriced find.
