The configuration was very simple, since both my DSL router (Fritzbox 3270) as well as the SE365 support the WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) function, so it can accept the configuration at the touch of the Fritz box SE365. In addition, you may need in the SE365 under "Advanced Settings" Setup Menu -> "Local Area Network", the IP address of the SE365 adapt to the private address space used in your own LAN. This differs namely on the default setting of the SE365, you can no longer access it later in your Web browser to the SE365 the Setup menu.
At the SE365 I later joined a switch in order to connect both my satellite receiver as well as my new Popcorn Hour A-110 WLAN can. Also works without problems.
To date, the Gigaset SE365 works without any problems. There is 1 floor below the Fritz box, the signal must go through several walls. The field strength in the 2.4 GHz band oscillates between 40 and 60 percent, the data rate is almost always more than 200 Mbit / s, a maximum of around 280 Mbit / s. (All values according to Fritz box.)
The tethered via SE365 appliances not working slower than my laptop (also supports Draft-n standard) when I run it in the same room as the other devices. I have several copy operations in the network performed in order to obtain comparable figures.
I have to compare with the Gigaset SE365 tried another wireless Ethernet adapter, namely the Trendnet TEW-638APB. That's much slower on my Fritzbox. Thus goes for me the price / performance ratio of higher priced Siemens device perfectly okay.
