TrekStor eBook Reader Pyrus (15.2 centimeters (6 inches) Digital Ink Display, 4 GB) (Electronics)

Customer Review

I opted for the Trekstor mainly because the price was 75 for me. So much cheaper than the Sony Reader, and still 25 under the Kindle. For me it was important: good display, memory expansion, and that I just can load books on the Reader without any accounts and Internet uploads. When comparing I tested the Sony Reader and the Kindle 4.

Here is a summary:

Processing:
The Reader is packed in a rubberized, black plastic case. The housing is rigid, does not rattle and has no joints. That's postitiv, especially when compared to twice as expensive Sony with piano finish. The keys for operation are sunk slightly and more difficult to achieve, which prevents accidental pressing. Flip two buttons on the edge are admitted, they can be hit more easily. The reader itself is light and comfortable to hold. All in all, strongly oriented on Kindle design.

Display:
For me, the most important argument in Reader. To enable fatigue-free reading, the image must have high contrast. This creates the Sony Reader quite well - the difference between black and white is better with him than with the Trekstor - and also can be adjusted. Nevertheless: The display of Trekstor is clear, sharp and contrast than the Kindle I've seen (v4). Amazon seems to obstruct displays from different manufacturers here. One is counterproductive richer than the other - so you never know what you I bekommt.Als the Kindle in his hand - came to me the background very dark before - like reading on aged gray paper. And since you can test the devices previously not commercially - that was the exclusion criterion for the Kindle. The paging fold when Trekstor not as fast as the Kindle, and establish a good image display (no ghosting) needs to be rebuilt each time turning, but that does not bother me. After a read book 500 pages, I can say: Good readability and fast enough. For the price - even very good!

Battery:
Can not judge me.

Software:
Simple Software. The Reader will be recognized as a USB drive and you can get started by simply playing on books. 4GB are integrated - twice as much as the Kindle - which already allows a large library. ePUB and PDF as large formats are supported - to a number of less important. This so you can not read Amazon books. But for most of the books from the German online store and Onleihen. Here you have to decide: Amazon has built a very extensive range which is also kompfortabel. But you have to bind up.
The PDF function is spartan and barely allowed modifications. Oh yes: There is no WiFi and no headphone jack - where the meaning would not open.

Conclusion:
Interested readers with a very good price-performance ratio. Meets all basic functions is expandable and provides a good display.
