** Installation **
In the instruction manual rather short is held, with a Windows 8 PC, one should only connect the device and Windows will install the drivers themselves.
Windows has something installed, works however has the Tab then not - even after PC reboot.
The situation can be manually download the driver software from the manufacturer's website.
Here a small handy program is installed, which are sure to make settings for the tab and the pencil.
The tab was detected immediately after installation (and another restart) and works perfectly.
** Software **
The driver software is made clear. They will start together with Windows, you can drive out their with 2 clicks.
Here diverse setting possibilities are offered. Both the tab and for the associated pin.
Very great is the profile feature. The standard has only one profile: "Everything else". Here key assignments and behavior of Tab and pin for example, the operation in Windows can be set. As soon as I started my image editor appeared another profile with the name and logo of the program. The profile was fully furnished and provided with meaningful key assignments. If anything, however, are not enough, everything can be adjusted with a few clicks.
Especially pleasant for me: I use 2 screens on my PC. The software gives me the opportunity to adapt, whether the tablet will recognize both image areas or only one.
** Design and processing **
The design is so wertig how it looks in the pictures. The Intuos is great processed, no recognizable manufacturing defects. The metallic surface is very high, the black areas are lightly coated and compose himself so very well.
The pen itself is very good in your hand, so you can work with it for a longer time without getting a cramp.
The pen has 2 buttons, a pressure sensitive, removable top and on the back of a pressure-sensitive eraser also.
** Service **
I've never worked with a graphic tablet and my very first steps were a bit bumpy. It is characterized as having a pen on paper, however, the movements on the Table are relative to the monitor. This makes it possible on the tablet to "jump", ie to move the mouse from one corner of the screen to the other, without having to draw a trace.
The mouse movement works by holding the pen over the tablet, without touching it. Click and drag one can then with a touch a button on the stylus replaces the right mouse button.
After half an hour imaging the brain, the new control type accepted and the movements are already much more natural from. After an hour, I look no longer at on the Tablet, wonder how I ever could edit images with the mouse. The pen is very accurate. Even small buttons and dropdown menus can be after a short training easily and quickly operate.
The multi-touch feature can be switched on or off by a small switch on the tablet. For image editing I use it almost (except maybe to zoom with 2 fingers).
If you use the tablet but also in Windows, it is very pleasant so for example to scroll through Web pages. Multitouch is my opinion, not necessary, but quite practical and the little extra cost (for me) worth.
** ** Extensibility
In the field of optional accessories, there is a wireless kit, with which the tablet can be operated wirelessly with battery. The pen tips can be replaced and are available in different sizes.
As a small gimmick Also the blue pen holder and the blue ring can replace the top of the pen. For both is a black version, there is certainly more to order.
** Conclusion / TL; DR **
The Tablet is an entry-level version. For the price, it is highly recommended. It simplifies and improves the work in image editing software, allowing precise drawing on the PC. Setup and customization options are plentiful and it was set up almost any problem.
I do not know what a more expensive tablet could do even better (except for the size).
