The Calvin Richardson knows his craft, he has shown on the two previous albums. His Bobby Womack tribute album is one of bestgelungensten Tributes at all. The sequel to "Americas Most Wanted" was also great cinema. Now his new work: sounds pleasing, radio friendly, and a little something to mainstream at first listen. Okay, that does not necessarily lead to deduction of points. R & B happens to have fewer corners and edges, to his ear, in the soul and in the best case - go directly into the egg - sorry. Well - that does it. Calvin Richardson knows how deeply and sent to bow down to his idols. Friends of soul classics will have on this album their pure joy. "Unreasonable" sounds as if Bobby Womack never gone, the drum machine on "We Gon 'Love Tonite" sounds wonderfully for "Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gaye. "Dark Side Of Love" even includes real handclaps! That there still is such a thing today. And then he still delivers a great version of "I'll Take Care Of You". Great. Too bad that Richardson hardly finds resonance in Germany. On the radio I've never heard a song by him. Since this is the first review of the album here, the man seems to have not a very big audience with us. This is his home, fortunately a little different. All in all a great album for the Saturday night, when the kids have left home, the TV is nothing, even a bottle of wine in the kitchen and a beautiful evening for two nothing stands in the way ...
