Effective, but not handicapped by its pivoting head

Obviously the decision to buy a razor is not exclusively based on very objective criteria:
- It is difficult to justify a preference for models with grid or those rotary head type Philips (in its tests of 5 November 2013, UFC Que Choisir not saying that technology would be superior to the other );
- There are those who see that shaving in the shower, and those like me have learned to shave dry (I note that even for Wet and Dry Shaver, Braun recommends dry shaving for maximum efficiency) .

I had bought there a dozen of years the ultimate Braun of the time, a rechargeable 7 Series has aged remarkably well and still holds the load. This bodes well for the sustainability of the current Braun.

It seemed interesting to compare the performance of both devices to check whether the technologies actually increased:
- My old 7 Series is equipped dune swivel head (fixed on the 380), but the elements do not float unlike the 380,
- The 380 is equipped with a SensoFoil grid, while the old 7 Series has a gate to the complex drawing,
- Both razors come with 3 cutting elements, the central mower ActiveLift,
- The 380 does not have a removable cover to protect the head during the daily storage, it is petty.

I organized the test by browsing the right side of my face with a razor, and the left side with the other. Result:
- In terms of pure efficiency, the 380 seems gradually more efficient. I emphasize that it is very difficult to see a difference. Additionally grilles and knives old 7 Series were already in operation for 4 months (I change them every 18 months, as recommended by Braun)
- By cons ergonomics old 7 Series is more successful, thanks to the swivel head. The fixed head 380 is inclined toward the face; this constraint makes the movements of the hand and less fluid wastes time,
- Incidentally, the heads of the locking control of 380 (used for hard) is activated less readily than the Series 7. This feature is also related to the lack of swivel head.

Certainly I compared two different ranges, which is not ideal. But that still allows me to make the following recommendations:
- It is not necessary to regularly change razor; Technology has undoubtedly reached some form of perfection,
- Rather than the 3380 Series, choose a model with swivel head, available from the 5 Series, such as the Braun Series 5 5-5020s, and to a relatively close price. If you absolutely want to shave in the shower, there is today in the swivel head Series 7 799cc-6 Wet & Dry with automatic cleaning, but it will cost you much more expensive.

This Braun 380 deserves 3-4 stars, depending on your situation:
- 4 stars if you're a fan of shaving in the shower. I assumed that the device was primarily designed this public there, hence my final grade;
- 3 stars in relation Q / P pure because Braun offers almost the same price the Series 5 performance and higher approval.
