Modern Life Is Rubbish (Audio CD)

Customer Review

In 1993, the British music world still lived in peace because the Gallagher brothers and Damon Albarn were no enemies. Where Oasis already with their debut "defenitely Maybe" quasi 1994 were able to record from the state a huge success, Blur was not until the 3rd start with "Parklife" the definitive international breakthrough. But it was her second, "Modern Life Is Rubbish", which was perfect enough to enter the first flawless Britpop classics in the history. The blur on their first 4 albums cultivated the traditions of English pop music in the style of the 60s, was just to her self-image as the penchant for cheesy-silly Plattencover motives. But one should entangle in trivialities not always. Especially not with such flawless "storybook" -Britpop as the Blur. "Modern Life Is Rubbish" excelled equally by several qualities: sense of style, variety, playfulness, light-heartedness, cheerfulness and hits, hits, hits ... All this had the legendary successor "Park Live" at least in the same amount intus but "Modern Life Is Rubbish "possessed due to his occasional guitar feedback and close to American indie rock still plenty of youthful naivete and rebellious potential of what the album more bite and freshness lent and makes at least to my definite favorites Blur.
