Equipment and functions:
The Eka 8 will be shipped in a gift box. Please also note the customer images for this product. In the package there was the knife, the warranty (10 year guarantee) and the bag (more on that later).
The Eka 8 is out-of-the-box already beautifully sharp and cuts well. Other functions - compared to classic pocket knives such as screwdrivers or corkscrew - has the Eka 8 as jackknife course not. For that I have personally yes the Leatherman Squirt on a key chain.
The blade of Eka 8 is about 80mm long, 3mm thick and 20mm wide. The whole knife is about 180mm long. The weight is approximately 104g. The blade is made of Sandvik 12C27 steel (stainless steel) and has to open a Nail nick. The Klingenverrriegelung is designed as Backlock. The booklet consists of bubinga wood and touches his very pleasant. On the left side knife (in the cutting direction) the Eka logo is embedded in the wood.
Conclusion:
The Eka 8 is very well done, the design and clean processing, there is no reason for complaint. The folding mechanism is running stable and functional, the blade is long enough and sharp. Why do I still forgive only four stars? Well, anywhere (even here at the product details or in the product title) is made with a leather sheath from elk skin, which should be included. Unfortunately, there is apparently no longer this sheath, it was a bag made of nylon case. This bag weighs about 51g, is large enough for the knife and to be OK. Unfortunately, the push button this bag does not tidy. You have to expend a lot of energy to close. With the bits that were in 2009 while, I did not expect, are no longer part of Eka 8 and remain in the evaluation on the sidelines. This time I forgive four out of five stars. The knife is great but it's just not (more?) The promised delivery here, Eka advertises itself on its website even with the leather sheath, so I prefer here a ZIP code. There remain good four star. The Eka 8 will not be the last knife of this company in my collection.
