Krups Dolce Gusto KP200x - Melody 1 (2006, first series)
Krups Dolce Gusto KP210x - Melody 2 (2008, revised version)
Krups Dolce Gusto KP500x - Circolo (2009, technology is based on the Melody 2)
Krups Dolce Gusto KP100x - Piccolo (2010, technology is based on the Melody 2)
The first series was not high on the state of today's models. The capsule holder and the selector lever left a little shaky impression and the system had only 14 bar pressure.
The revised version in the form of the 2100er model series was not only visually but also technically upgraded. In addition to some visually (successful) chrome embellishments of pressure from 14 to 15 of the capsule holder has bar, makes it easier and magnetized and added a power-saving shutdown.
With the models and Piccolo Circolo Although two new versions were introduced to the market, technically it but still comply with the (current) state / model from 2008, the Melody 2. Here was merely revised the design and somewhat noble designed to the clientele and meet the market requirements.
The Dolce Gusto Piccolo sets, as compared to the larger / older models, rather on simple elegance and an efficient design and space design. This is particularly useful for people with small kitchens and / or lovers efficiently designed kitchen appliances.
The main differences to the Melody 2 and Circolo are only in the design, the price, and the slightly smaller water tank (Melody 2 1.5 liter / 1.3 liter Circolo / Piccolo 0.6 liters) founded. Qualitatively, ie from a processing perspective, the above models assume nothing - this is well on a high level.
As for the service, the taste or the 'end product' of Piccolo, so this is as might be expected, designed and very easy absolutely identical with the other models.
One advantage of the Dolce Gusto system of her own capsule holder, which ensures that does not pollute the machine and so hardly incurred cleaning. The solution of the 'manual water supply' on the selection lever I think is very practical and not, as shown here in so many other review, as a point for 'nice speeches'. Sure, a little practice must be. But the right feeling you out pretty quickly and in this way it is possible to make the strength of the drink individually.
The issues raised here vibrations are present, but not as bad as the first two models. The slip the cup or the glass is certainly also on the condition of the subfloor, for me it is at least not yet happened. Only the Circolo has a more secure status and 'rattles' less, but at the weight probably comes as no surprise.
The Piccolo is actually much more difficult than it looks at you, frown therefore not end when you raise the package that you really weigh!
Well, what else occurs to me yet?
The water supply lasts for about 2-3 cups, then is later than the end. That's for me, but so far not a problem because the refill is done very quickly and the water tank and the construction was the fact, exemplary solved compared to hakeligen Circolo.
For optimal coffee enjoyment and less maintenance I still recommend an additional water filter such as the Brita water filter starter pack Aluna Cool white, so you are prepared for all eventualities.
Price / performance for the Piccolo machine as such I rate excellent with the longevity they have to prove, though.
Who can get used to the technology, optics, and the variety, the flavor and the price of the capsules I want this (or another Dolce Gusto) highly recommended.
