I now have very often listened to the soundtrack and I'm listening at each other more and more excited. At first I thought the songs are alike all very much and sometimes I had no idea what song is currently playing for now. But after a while you can hear the small subtle differences. The soundtrack has a rather oppressive atmosphere, exactly like the movie. Most tracks are for me The Train; Searching for Peeta and Rue's Farewell course. James Newton Howard I already know from the Batman soundtrack. And his handwriting can be heard clearly. Especially when compared Rue's Farewell and Harvey Two Face from The Dark Knight.
My conclusion: The Hunger Games The Hunger Games is very good reflects a quiet and oppressive soundtrack of the story. Its strength lies in the calm tones. The only shortcoming of the score is that a few songs sadly lacking, which are very noticed in the film (eg as Katniss on the Hob is)
