I find this history-against the interesting and pleasant philosophy; it gives the reader an extra layer of cultural veneer. Writing is removed. I'm not disappointed because every volume, I do not expect the thoughts of Mr. Onfray but information on poorly studied characters. This is what he describes pleasant way. The reader to learn more thoroughly then it is hooked by this or that philosopher described.
