Epic, awesome, gigantic - An absolute RPG paradise

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PS3, Standard Edition) (Video Game)

Customer Review

The Elder Scrolls series Bethesda has developed a series that probably the manifestation of the concept of "freedom" is in the range RPG. WHILE Arena was quite unknown and Daggerfall was played primarily by fans of the first part, the series came only through Morrowind out more. The possibilities were almost limitless. With Oblivion then a (in my opinion and judging by the ratings in the opinion of many magazines to well) even better successor out. Graphically at the time the best of the best, world total of Design very successful, better than the previous main story, narrative senior side quests, of which there were countless. But it was not all perfect. The Main Story was nice, was fun, but was not a comparison of example numerous Biowaretiteln. So beautiful the world was, many times you had, including numerous dungeons and interior design, very generated. In many places the love to detail was missing. And for catastrophic localization in the area Items you need not say anything well. Nevertheless, Bethesda had created the well to total vision epischte and extensive RPG this time despite this problem.
With Skyrim now comes the sequel. Expectations are damn high. Can the game this justice? For those who do not want to read everything: But something of!

The Story:
So far, I like the story better than in the predecessor. Series Typically you start as a prisoner who is to be executed. Stupid, a dragon ensures orderly chaos. A short time later learn her that her since and trying to figure out why the dragons are a dragon's blood back.
Narrative the whole series typically is constructed with little cutscenes or such. So the whole thing works properly, unlike for example in Biowaretiteln. You are experiencing the story more realistic and not so cinematic. This is the "I am the king of this epic story" factor is not so much achieved. But that does not, in my opinion, because the Elder Scrolls series is level for a more realistic narrative and so has a very different, but in my opinion very good flair. And the moments where fighting dragons, are quite epic.
However, it should also be said that Skyrim tells a different kind of story, and Bethesda has hinbekommen unbeaten so far in my opinion. That was in Morrowind so that was in Oblivion so trains (not as strong), there were in Fallout 3 and Skyrim in it's back. Here, in addition to the main quest, the story of Skyrim tell when you're getting into it. There are an incredible number of books in the game that you can read and many tell of the circumstances of the game world. Sidequests, notes and conversations do the same way. So one begins gradually a big part of the story to see through all these little things and relationships. Even cookbooks do this. We meet on a way maybe someone who collects herbs, because it such a good cook will be exactly like a master chef, who has written a particular book. This book can be found occasionally in buildings and also read. The recipes clarify then on flora and fauna in the world. Of course purely historical books that make the whole strengthened, but even such trifles play their part in the entire history of the world!

Quests:
The quests are typical series designed damn good! In addition to the main quest, there are the usual myriad of guild quests for many guilds to do, by the inhabitants there are many who, and and and! Quest Technically you have enough to do! However, here comes another new feature before: There are randomly generated quests, which you can meet all over again. The sequence is then typical RPG. Kill what, or collect what. That does not quite reach the level of non-randomly generated quests, but is anything but bad. The reason is that the reasons why you kill something specific or collects more spontaneously in certain places in certain situations (somewhat like events) you are thrown virtually on the feet. Thus, these quests have not quite reach the level of all other quests of the game, but are nevertheless so well done that it is above the standard of many other side quests from other RPGs.

Sound:
Epic! The sound reminded me in many areas often a bit of Morrowind, which pleases me very well. But there are also some epic shots that are imported if, for example, fighting a dragon. So musically managed damn.
One problem with Oblivion, it was that there were only very few speakers, so that the voices of the characters repeated often. This no longer occurs here. Here numerous speakers were involved, all of which make a very good job. Nice!

Graphics:
Oblivion was then a graphics bomb. Anyone who played the game for the first time, the eyes are probably fallen out of the head when you leave the sewers.
Skyrim is no such graphic reference, but still looks damn good and I mean really damn good!
The textures are often top-notch. Unfortunately, some are faded a little when you when standing in front directly. One shortcoming in Oblivion were also the character faces, which somehow looked very unnatural. Skyrim makes it much better. The faces of the races are quite different from the doll-like effect faces from Oblivion. Here emphasis was clearly placed on realistic faces. Stylistically go the faces, I think, something towards Morrowind, which I personally like damn good!
Sometimes objects fall on which aufploppen in the not too distance. In the cities numerous NPCs and objects need to be loaded, resulting in occasional stuttering, which in my opinion, but they are not disturbing. Too often they do not occur.
Graphically Skyrim is so in my opinion the very top, even if the "Holy Shit !!!!" - moment of Oblivion is not reached. That does not matter, the style like the graphics like, watch out!
Even Bethesda has managed to develop the first useful animations. Some work still a little Tick hälzern, but this is so rare that it does not interfere. These animations makes it even fun in the third-person point of view to play, what I did not like because of animation problems in Morrowind and Oblivion.

World Design:
In Oblivion here was just the problem that seemed very much generated. This affected many parts of the world, many dungeons and many houses from the inside.
Skyrim does here absolutely everything better. In World Design much love was so mad stuck! Autumnal forests, savannah-like plains, snow-capped mountains - the world offers many different areas. Otherwise, it's hard to lose words about that. It's just incredible succeeded, you have to have seen. The dungeons are very nicely designed, with the houses, you might think there would be a "medieval-setter" tasked to find the best rauszuholen. Everything here is absolutely first class.
The vision is huge again. Everything contributes to the total of just in very, very good optics.
Moment during the daily routines a little aufgesettz worked in Oblivion that act incredibly course of Skyrim. The random conversations between the inhabitants of this land are extensive, rich facets and act not even here so placed. Shops are usually open between 8 and 20 o'clock and at this time are also a lot of people at work, it moment during the evening something approaching total of Stiller. Bethesda has crafted here in my opinion currently the best daily routine system!
Although the graphics, so textures, models are very good, they were just not this "WOW!" - Effect exclaim, Oblivion had then. Skyrim compensates immeasurably by the prime WorldDesign and provides here for damned many "WOW!" - Moments!
The RadiantAI which not only ensures endless quests, ensures the new daily routines and other behavior between monsters, animals and inhabitants of Skyrim. The behavior of the creatures has been greatly optimized. I remember the moment when some giants have driven their mammoth herd on the savannah and by a dragon total chaos erupted. So life had no "creature world" in an RPG.
One should also mention that Bethesda has finally built something there was only mods for Morrowind. There are children! That's total of only a small innovation, but an important, because it is a part that makes the world more alive in Skyrim.

Gameplay:
Everything here is almost as usual. The possibilities are endless. Everything rob? Clear! Play mercenaries? For Sure! Play mass murderers? Jop! Join guilds? Of Course! Alchemist are? Also! Forging and remove ores? Clear! Go hunting? Anyway! And all this combined with numerous game modes.
Bethesda has also removed classes in Skyrim. I personally feel good, because then one has more to determine the feeling exactly what you want to be in this world!
Erstnalig you can also use 2 weapons at once, or two spells at the same time and combine them. This works very well and expanded the already seemingly endless ways to add even more features.
Also you can perform so-called dragon shouts, which are particularly strong spell that cost no mana and you learn gradually.
Quick travel is available again. Each series newcomer was told: it uses as little as possible. You walk then through the gigantic world maybe a little, but these walkways there is just unbelievable so much to discover.

Other:
In such a gigantic game, often creep bugs, which is probably also difficult to avoid. Here Bethesda has done a good job. I have so far noticed no annoying bugs. The only "fault" was a broom, which floated the middle of nowhere in the air. Also the localization debacle of its predecessor has been done better. There this time also nothing to complain about.
At the dragon was even said something: It can always happen that a Dragon attacks. Do you hear a roar, rather look out for improvement. The fights against the dragons are very varied. The reason is that many actions are random. These critters are so often very unpredictable. A pretty cool feature so, especially as the critters are damn well designed!

Conclusion:
I could here so much more to write, but I let right times. Why? In order for you to experience for yourself the game, because that should be. Skyrim has so incredibly much, so gigantic, so epic that you have to have just played. Oblivion was, despite its quirks, for me the best RPG on overall vision. Skyrim now could take this place. Strong buy recommendation!
