One thing I want to make my subsequent comments appear in the right light, preface: I am of professional graphic designers, working so daily with appropriate technical equipment and take also, without wanting to appear arrogant for me to complete, good judgment with regard to the owning quality of any graphic reproductions. This also applies to the quality of scans, so to speak, belong to my job for daily bread. Selection, ordering and delivery After extensive market research and consultations with colleagues I have, due to the current functionality, for the not very cheap scanners 'Epson Perfection V600 Photo' decided and ordered him a well-known internet marketers. After four days, in my view, an acceptable waiting time, the unit was delivered. Already when unpacking were my expectations, which one does inevitably has as a buyer to a more expensive product, fully met. Clean, well packed and completely existing accessories (including 2 film holders, extensive quality software, etc.). Even my expectations in terms of design and weight were fully met (even here one can sometimes experience unpleasant surprises if you look at leaves on the illustrations and specifications of the manufacturer on the Internet). Installation and Operation The installation and commissioning of the scanner were without any problems (Again, I have already made quite unpleasant experiences with products from other manufacturers that had the term 'plug and play' probably not quite internalized). Also, my expectations for the scanning and the scan results were (initially) fully met and thoroughly justified the term 'perfection' in the device name. The scanner works with an appropriate volume level and provides high-quality scans. Even when scanning at high resolution, the device achieves an acceptable speed. At first I was so fully satisfied with the scanner. The Problems Approximately 1 month of intensive use, especially for slide texture scan, then unfortunately occurred in the scan results at first error. Again after about 30 minutes use the slide scans ever had three or four delicate, horizontally and vertically extending, türkisene, red and green lines. After restarting the scanner, these lines had disappeared again in the following scans, but it is only for about 30 minutes. Then the problem anew went. Unfortunately I could not locate the problem itself. Installing the supplied Epson software was carried out without errors, the physical connection to my PC was fine and also an incompatibility between my operating system and device driver I could rule out, as I of a very new computer with an Epson as a condition for the operation have OS called scanner. Besides, there worked the scanner, as mentioned, always 30 minutes free of errors. So I turned to the user support of Epson. After description of my problem I assured a support staff that the problem could not be in the scanner itself, but probably has to be a software problem and that the software was probably not installed correctly, even if this was so appears. More help unfortunately I could e-mail no longer obtain. Since the I recommended reinstalling the software could not solve the problem, I decided then to bring the scanner to an Epson dealer and check under the guarantee and possibly repaired. The trader was very accommodating and told me that since I had also assured him emphatically that I need the device as soon as possible necessarily for professional purposes back immediately any assistance in solving my problem to. 'And now the frustration (and thus the real reason of my writing) As already mentioned, I have the dealer made it unmistakably clear that I am depend on creating this device. The, as we have said very committed, dealer has this definitely understood properly and now it's pretty embarrassing him, me, because of the obvious shortcomings of the Epson services having to repeatedly put off again. It is now almost two months since I THE SCANNER TO THE DEALER HAD BROUGHT! I feel now as if I had been a supermarket erstandenes for 5 Euro Tamagotchi for repair. As you can probably expect a great service. But I have purchased an expensive brand device whose functionality is designed so that probably Epson can assume that this equipment often comes in the professional field for use. And in this environment, you can not for weeks without the device to the manufacturer at some point to deigns to address a faulty device and to comply with its warranties adequately. Just to say that I am disappointed by the service of the company Epson, would not be enough here. I think it's an insult, like here with customers who have purchased expensive products being handled! Even if I should get the scanner might soon return and he then operate smoothly again, I can say one thing with certainty already: This was the last Epson scanner, I HAVE BOUGHT! I wish it never, but if you also have similar experiences with the service of this company have done, then it makes known.
