After our (actually quite good) had a lot of abandoned long slot toaster a known coffee roaster after 3-4 years too early his spirit (filament blown), a new acquisition was again due. Contrary to all expectations proved to have the choice extremely difficult. Long slot should again be happy also in duplicate, because we like to toast bread slices sometimes longer. A bread roll attachment should be grown captive, and the device should be able to toast - actually no special requirements nowadays. A closer study of various Toaster however noticed already that -no matter in which Preisklasse- everywhere unacceptable defects such as strong odors, hot housing outsides or smoke occur. Well, some toaster was needed, and so the TA20 of Petra was ordered, not least in the hope that it qualitatively with our 15, - (!) DM interim single-toaster Petra anno 2000 (still with quartz heating elements!) can keep ... Could he not unfortunately. Delivery (as always with Amazon) extremely fast, but when unpacking then fell already the first flaws: - The knob is extremely smooth - is quickly adjusted times by mistake - The matt brushed case looks pretty high, not as the cheap plastic sides - One of the fixations (rivets) at the heating wires lacked already, so that part of the wire wobbled slightly loose - The heating wires were very different over-tensioned, so that can not be expected from the outset with an even browning
Although already it was clear the return at this point, again, a test run was made. However, this made sure that despite intensive ventilation the smell from the heating elements was hard to come back from the kitchen.
We have now opted for a more favorable model of Cloer and hope that it holds out a couple of years. The odor in model of Cloer was significantly more tolerable and after 3-4 no-loads also whittled away.
Oh, and when Googling we have found that one for $ 175 even a toaster "Made in Germany" by Rowenta gets - but why not in Germany?
