What can I say about this album yet? Since released at 12:01:04 the CD should have rotated to the 20 rounds in my CD player. And in all that time I have not heard any other CD more. "The Glorious Burden" is simply the Iced Earth album become. Although probably everyone (myself included) Matt Barlow wants to hear for comparison, so you have to Tim Owens for this madness performance simply commendable. Jon Schaffer for the songwriting anyway. On the CD there is not a single failure. The previous trilogies (The Suffering and Something Wicked) by Iced Earth for me were always the highlights of the album, but "Gettysburg", this quite formidable in the shadows. The half an hour goes by way too fast. I look forward to definitely huge on the Tour and I am especially excited as Tim Owens sings the old songs. HIGHEST SCORING AND ALREADY ALBUM OF THE YEAR - as you can nothing better more to come!
02/01/2010 My opinion almost 6 years: Wow, this album is actually already almost 6 years old? Even after this time, it can be said that it still belongs to the best that Iced Earth have published. When I insert a disc of them, then either "The Dark Saga", "Alive in Athens" or just this one. Especially when compared to "Framing Armageddon" (with only a few good songs) and "The Crucible of Man" (though again with Matt, but overall unfortunately a very weak album) is remarkable how well "The Glorious Burden" was and always still is. "Gettysburg" still is for me one of the best compositions by Mr. Schaffer and ever in the metal scene and the album a milestone in Iced Earth Discography.
