This album is superb as Stefano Bollani, rather than offer us a Nth "Brazilian" album of bossa, samba or of a "best of" Jobim, leads us into a colorful patchwork, with many different influences, or its polymorphic talented pianist, arranger, singer, and that of his comrades, are fully expressed. This album is a reflection of the city and it was recorded in Rio de Janeiro: complex, paradoxical, attractive, cosmopolitan, exciting, sunny, surprising, authentic ... and ultimately endearing. Here, brass, guitars, piano and percussion jostle in a cultural melting pot of musical species and that, unless being totally refractory to Brazilian music should leave no one unmoved: it plays, it swings, it dance , it pulsates, it moves, it grooves, it surprises .... In short, an album that feels good!
